I have both the regular sized Talon and the Mini-Talon. (I'm looking forward to the development of a large Talon). The corrosion resistant Talonite material was an important factor in the purchase of these knives. I later found that Talonite is also great at cutting things (sandwiches, tough meat, cardboard boxes, opening letters, nylon ties, etc). Though not serrated, the cutting edge seem to grip the material being cut quite effectively.
The mini seem to be a tad "too small" at times--I could use my key chain SAK for the same mini-tasks. (Alternatively, I guess I could leave the SAK at home and carry the mini instead). As such, I do not carry the mini as a primary knife under normal conditions. I would use the mini if I needed to use a small knife under adverse weather conditions or in corrosive environments (e.g., near/under water). The knife will be fine but the neck chain and hardware on the sheath will rust if not cared for properly--I'm still watching the screws used to secure the scales to see if it will corrode.
I found that the kydex sheath of the mini can be attached to the tech-lock mechanism that came with the regular talon if belt carry is preferred over neck carry.
The Talons are high quality knives that can be used with confidence without fear of corrosion regardless of the environment.
