Looking at Ollech and Wajs but would like to get some comments from the watch knuts out there.

Dennis, my sole experience is the Cougar. IMO a fantastic watch. Great size and heft. Width is 39 mm excluding crown and 43 mm including crown. Crystal diameter is 29 mm. Lug to lug is 45 mm. Thickness is 11 mm.

Waterproof to 200 meters, sapphire crystal window, date window at 3, screw down crown, safety stainless steel band, sand blasted stainless steel case, unidirectional bezel, bright luminous markings and hands and Swiss made ETA 2824-2 25 jewel mechanical automatic movement (same as the one used in a Tudor Submariner, so I've heard). But I am sure you know all this stuff.

I have been wearing this watch for about a month now and never take it off. In fact, I feel naked without it.

As you may know, most of the manual chronometers have to be regulated (adjusted) after an initial time of approx. 2 months. I haven't done this yet. However, my watch has been displaying exactly the same time on 24 hours basis for the last fortnight. It's 20 second too fast. So I know that after the regulation, the watch will be dead on accurate.

My brother has that exact watch dePaul.., and also loves it!

I got this one yesterday. I have only had it for one day so I have no long term experience with it. I will say that my initial impressions are very positive. I took it to a local jeweler to have the band adjusted. Everyone in the store went nuts for it.

The only thing I think I won't like about it is the fact that it has a mineral crystal. I prefer sapphire.

The Cougar will probably be my next purchase. Does the beadblast seem to scratch easily?

Not the watch case, but the steel band. Mainly where it comes in contact with itself (when taking on and off),

I have a Cougar but I am a little disappointed....the hands are invisible at night and the bracelet seems a little cheap.
I have since bought a Sinn EZM 3. Now there's a watch!

I have a WCT diver (like the one shootist16 has pictured). The ETA 2824-2 movement in the O&W is one of the most respected and robust hacking movments out there. For the $$$, it was the best choice to make (IMO). Try E-Bay...Harrold (i think that's his name) from WCT regularly sells on Ebay under the name: hmpsystems@earthlink.net

BTW, if you decide to get one...you can have the mineral crystal replaced with a sapphire one by a compitant watchmaker/repair shop for about $50-75.
