Need some info on Emerson CQC-8 w/ Wave...
How does it perform????
Is it a good EDC Blade??/
What have you used it for???
Any pros/ cons????
As always thanks to every one for your support!!!!!

I almost bought an Emerson Commander, so I know a little bit of general info about Emerson knives.

Supposedly, they are are really high quality, although some ppl have said that the liner locks are not strong enough. Another thing to bear in mind is that all of the emerson blades are chisel ground. There is a lot of good info on that in these forums, but I can't find the link right now.

Lastly, the reason I decided not to order the commander is that they were backordered for over a year. I was ordering from an online shop though, not from emerson knives directly, so the wait may be shorter throgh them.

Hope this info helped...

That's incorrect.

Emerson uses chisel grinds on some models and what's referred to by them as "a conventional V-grind" on others. A CQC-7B is chisel ground, a CQC-7A is conventional V-ground.

Commanders have the 'conventional v-grinds' too.

I've got the Commander with the V-grind and it used to be my EDC many moons ago. My concern in using the wave feature is that it puts a lot of wear on your pocket.

I notice that Duluth Trading Co. has "Road Hog Work Jeans" which contain kevlar. These may be the ideal jeans for a wave knife.
