I've had this knife for a few days and thought I would share my impressions.
This knife was provided through the services of Dennis Bible (shootist16), The Leading Edge. This was a sight-unseen transaction. It looked good on Dennis' website and the price was right, so I went for it. It was not a mistake.
The makers are the brothers, Ricardo and Roberto Lala of Brazil. They've been in the custom knife business since 1991. They recently won an award from the Brazlian knife community.
Unfortunately, I do not have digi-cam capabilty, but the knife can be viewed at Dennis' site.
The blade, of 440C, measures either 3 1/8 to 3 1/4 depending upon where you measure it from. OAL is 7". I would describe the blade as a drop-point. It is an overall useful size and shape.
The fittings are all titanium, bolsters, liners and clip. The liners appear to be 1/16" and provide very solid frame strength.
The liner lock-up is among the best I have ever seen. Absolutely precise and secure and lined up exactly flush with the blade tang.
Handles are ivory micarta with blue anodized bolsters. Finish is beautiful. All assembly screws are beautifully finished and polished.
Pocket clip is rainbow-anodized with an orange-peel finish.
The stop pin and two stainless back spacers provide solid lateral strength.
Weight? Not sure, but probably somewhere around 2 1/2 ounces.
Conclusions? This is not just a pretty face. This knife is meant to be used. Very desirable as an EDC with lots of precise cutting power.
Impressive enough that I ordered another one right away for my son.
BTW, service from Dennis was courteous and very fast. The price was remarkable for a custom. There are also many other real nice looking pieces for reasonable prices. The price for the Fox is probably related to the overall strength of the US dollar.
