So this is my review of the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 Black on Black.
I was searching for a pretty long time for a good, quality knife.
The things that are important to me are: Steel, looks, functionality, and the lock.
Weight is not a huge deal for me. btw: This is my first review

-Size, Weight:
The size is pretty good, It's a well balanced knife and it comfortable in hand.
My hand are pretty small (I'm 15 years old) and it fits perfectly in my hand.
Also with gloves on.
It's just 1cm bigger than the Spyderco Stretch
The knife is extremely light for it's size.
But I don't care that much about weight so I don't have a lot to say about it:D

-Steel, Blade shape:
The steel is CPM S30V.
I don't know very much about it, but what I've heard it's all good.
It holds it's edge for a pretty long time.
It also has a DLC Black Coating (Diamond Like-Carbon)
I've got some cardboard and some wood with it and it's shows no sign of extreme wear.

-Speed:
The speed is great!
It's the easiest and fastest knife I've ever opened.
The deployment hole is 14mm and that's big enough.
The knife opens really quick, especially after some Nano-Oil:)

-Lockup:
The lockup is rock solid.
It's a compression lock, and I didn't find any problems with it.
I like the compression lock placement really much because you can open and close everything with one hand really easy.

-Handle Material:
It;s a G10 handle, It's not to rough and not to smooth.
It provides medium to high traction and thats enough.
I don't like knives with G10 so rough that it wrecks your back pocket
The jumping is executed perfectly.
(I don't have anything negative thing to say haha)

-Design:
I like the design very much,
It's looks are real stealth-like.
Nothing reflects except the Spyderco logo on the blade , and the insides of course.

-Value
Well, I spend 186,50,- Euro on this knife.
That's pretty expensive, but since it was sold out everywhere I went for it.
And I believe it will only increase in value over time.
You will get very much knife for the money.

This knife is just awesome.
It has become pretty much a standard for knives.
I will give it a 10/10.
I don't have anything negative to say about this knife.

Hi Joep,

What a great review. I own 2 PM2's and they don't leave my pocket. Even after getting the all new ZT 0566 the PM2 is my favorite. Nice pictures!

There's a reason the PM2 is so popular, it's a great size, good blade steel at a great price (at least in the US you can still get them under 90 euros for S30V models). I have a lot more expensive knives, and honestly knives that have better blade steel/fit/finish, but for some reason the PM2 finds it's way into my pocket a lot. I think it's just one of those rare designs where the specs alone don't explain why it's so popular to a wide variety of users. Though I think Spyderco has a really good handle on ergonomics their recent designs like the PM2 and Manix 2 are some of the most comfortable in hand.

My favorite of all spydercos. I am a cabinet maker and it gets used lots every day.
Love the pics.
