Review Wanted: Benchmade Vex

Haha, i could tell that also... by the CHINA on the blade. I'm not a stickler about where the knife is made. I do prefer USA over anything else, not because im from the US but because we seem to have better quality.

Oh, i would like to add that uh. Love the knife, i think its a great value. Only things i dont like are A) The blades action is very very stiff, like somebody tightened down the pivot bolt wayyy to much. And B) The blade is off center, i am guessing this is due to different washer thicknesses.

With regard to this particular knife, I'd suggest you look at other options in the price range.

IMO.

I returned it. CRAP. The blade action makes me want to cry. And the liner lock is very uncomfortable, almsot bomb proof but very uncomfortable.

Well, I for one think the knife is great. My blade came razor sharp, the action was buttery smooth with a little oil, the scales are better than those on my BM710, and the lockup was rock solid. It's underpriced IMO, China or not.

What seems to be missing, mostly, is consistent high quality of the final manufactured product.

Sounds like you're describing a Sebenza; others with the knife have not had that experience with it.

Fair enough, QC in China is harder to control than stateside. The knife is NOT as nice my sebbie, not even close, but of the two I bought (one for a friend), both were excellent examples; maybe I'm just lucky I guess.
