We just released the new Fiddleback Recluse and are going to need to get the word out on the street. Here's where you come in.

One of the best ways to get the word out is with a review. I would like to get 10 reviews out there right away, so I am going to give you a chance to get a free Recluse....but it IS going to cost you.

The first 10 people to buy and post a review on this forum and two other places will be entered into a drawing. The winner will get full credit on www.knivesshipfree.com for their knife and they can spend it any way they want on our store.

To enter, simply write your review with pics and post it. Then post to this thread the links to where you posted your review and you are entered.

As soon as there are 10, I will talk Andy into drawing a winner.

I'll be all over this... once I decide on which handle I want, and get the knife shipped up here!

Leaning towards the burgundy canvas, I think. Gonna force myself to wait until the wood handles are on the site before I pull the trigger, however. I might see something I like even more! Better safe than sorry, right? :D

G'day Derrick.

I would love to do a review of the recluse (with pics & videos of course :D ) . Even more so 'cause I'm 2 weeks away from a 2 week holiday

Unfortunately, I'm not in a position at the moment to pull the trigger on one :thumbdn:

So, I'll have to decline your generous offer :(

Kind regards
Mick

right on Derrick.. that's really cool man... i wish i could free up some $$$ soon...:o

Well, my pre-order showed up on the site, so forget waiting for the wooden handles! Now the wait for this thing to go through customs and get to Canada...

If this contest doesnt end before the end of Sept I'll be in it. I just ordered a DI with white liners. Plan on taking it to the WLC course and Camp-In in Sept.:D If it ends Ill still try to post some thoughts on the knife.

AS USUAL!!! Anyone that does a review and posts it in bushcrafting/survival forums gets a 10% discount off their next purchase from Fiddleback Forge.

I've been wanting to write a review up, but I just feel like I haven't gotten enough use out of my Recluse yet. A few dayhike / bushcraft outings and one backpacking / camping trip; not nearly comprehensive enough testing if you ask me. Although, last weekends camp out I did get to use the blade for food prep for the first time, and I gotta say its a damn good slicer!

But yeah, more testing needed. I'm supposed to be camping right now - playing with my Recluse - but something came up, and I have to take my girlfriend to the doctor tomorrow. Sigh.

In the meantime, here's a shot of the knife being used to strike a firesteel. Just because I know you guys love pictures, knives, and fire. I think I had the gas output too high...

Yeah, I backpack burgers and a frying pan high into the rockies on multi-day hikes. What of it? Hah, those ultralight-ers have no fun!

this is a very cool offer and i'll have to check under the cushions in the couch to see if i can scrape together enough for a Recluse.

it's a very nice looking design and has been on my list, this contest moves it up a notch or two.

just curious, does this offer only include the production version, or is the one lonely Recluse with the tan burlap scales on the custom page also included?

no fireball = gas output not high enough! :D

i've gone on a 3-day backpacking trip in King's Canyon years ago. this was at summer camp with camp owned gear except for individual sleeping bags. old-school frame packs and guess who was packing the 14" cast iron skillet for the group? that SOB was just a bit heavy, but the real fun was when one of the girls twisted her ankle and i had to carry her pack balanced on top of mine for ten miles.

found a nice knife when breaking camp and headig back tho! :D

Man that custom recluse is one that had caught my eye before. It hadnt been on the site for some time so Derrick must of gotten another one . I'm glad it wasnt there Thursday, it would of made the choice more difficult. I spent 2 weeks debating on which DI production one to get.

Derrick, you said for folks to post the link to where the post thier reviews. This is going to sound stupid but how do I post the actual link? I'm starting the review but plan on adding to it weekly. I've posted so far here on the Fiddleback forum and Bark Rivers forum.Planning on post over at JD also.

just copy the web address of the post and paste it here.

Mods if that is against the rules, then you can just say where you are posting it.

Ok, I'll try this. As I staed in a few of these. The review will be a continue work in progress. If its ok I'll will add to the review even after the contest is over. This knife is awsome. Already thinking about having to get another one of these just incase something was to happen to this one. I have a few knives that this could easily replace. Andy, Derrick and BRK crew did a good job putting this project together.

Not sure if this is still going on but I plan on trying to write a review this week on the recluse. Used it on my trip this week at the WLC class and Camp In in th U.P. Anyway I love the knife and will have some photos of it tomorrow.

I too would like to know if these offers are still good.
I should have a Recluse within the week.
