Has anyone used the Beaumont Metal Works knifemakers grinder? I'm leaning towards getting one but I'd like to hear from someone that is using one. While I'm at it is anyone using a Thermal Arc brand welder, I'm looking at one of their mig welder's. The price and features seem very good, but I can't seem to find any reviews.

Thermal Arc makes some very good equipmant
especially thier thier motor drives, which can actually generate 3phase 460! If you are looking for a 110v machine you can't beat Millers MILLERMATIC 130xp. You can even weld alunimum with it IF you keep the cable STRAIGHT. If your going to be doing something like body panels but still need the juice for thicker stuff Millers 185 is the best. I may seem like I'm leaning to one side but I've had the most experience with these and know that Miller doesn't have a slot price on it's parts for it's sellers if you need something.
Which means you get whatever you need quicker than any other company can. If your wandering how I know all this her is some background, 7 years welding exp. cut my teeth on alunimum mig & tig, after getting fed up with corprate philosophy worked with some very good friends at National Welders ( with probably the best service man in the south), and I teach welding at a local community college. Enough about me, if you need some prices let me know , the salesman at our branch is a great guy and is not afraid to ship anything anywhere even South America.

Todd, I've never used one of Rob's grinders, but he's made me several items and they are all first class work!

Take care!! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Just saw your post about Rob Frink's grinders. A friend of mine just bought one of his machine, it is one of the strongest grinders I have ever seen. It has No vibration in it at all. It is one solid piece of equipment. I think that he has designed and build a very good grinder, if you need any more info drop me an email.
