Revisit the Basic Series?

I know Jerry posted that he's out of the Basic Res-C handles and they "broke the mold" on those handles. However, I for one would love to see the series re-released. These things are amazing, I would love some company for my B-11 (just arrived today thanks to my PROXY (Mr. T) for that). I can see these things flying off the Busse shelves and and becoming some of the most treasured of all regular releases. After this current offering of 3 blades (small, medium, large) from the Company site, I hope they do a B-3, B-7 or B-5, and a B-9 release! Who's on board?

You keep talking like that and I wont ever get you another blade;):D:D

THe thing is ........IF,they do it would be with the scrapyard style, unless Jerry has a new style handle created. It would be great, but not the same as the originals:thumbup:

They COULD remake those molds if they were to release the whole series. THEN it would be economically feasible. Even after they did the standard release, they could roll out the B-Series again after a couple years. Almost like the company standard. Of all knives that should be kept a company "standard" as in a regular release, these would be my vote. EVEN better, keep these three up at all times for the consumers that cry and cry about no regular offerings, and have all other productions like the Gladius, NMFBM, Culti, GW or whatever be the "Special Release" on the website, and or Ganzaaa offerings. Anyway, just musing over the possibility of a B-Series orgy is making me smile.

Scrap Yard Bare-Bone Basics, INFI with Res-C.

I'm in.

"Get Down--to the Bone."

+1

Except then, I will be broke. :(

No kidding, I love Res-C, that's one reason I consider myself a Dog. Start making more INFI/Res-C combo's..............oink....woof, woof...oink

:D:D:thumbup::thumbup:;)

I got my Basic, and I think I should have all my bases covered now. Not that the boss will not come out with something new and exciting, but B11 paired with swamp warden should be able to take care of any task. I'm waiting for re release of AS and the folder.

Actually, in my mind a nice mid-size .25" thick blade of around 7" length would fill out the offerings of Res-C/INFI quite nicely over the past year, together with the S5LE from last summer/fall and the B11.

+1  .... I would like to get a Basic 7 to make up the set .... worth it for the ASM edge and then move my SFNO LE and Camp Tramp on at a later stage ....

I'd be in if affordable.

Affordability is relative. Let's see, you pay $297 for a Basic 11 + shipping = ~$310.00. Use it every other day (seriously) for the rest of your life and it is still working.

Many here are embroiled in their midlife crisis what with the hair finally leaving out and all so let's figure current age of 40.

If we don't act too stupid and dive off of more 7th floor balconies after an evening with Jerry we may see 80.

40X365/2.0=7,300 days of use if used every other day. $310.00/7,300=4.2 cents per day of usage. Only a nickel each time you use it and you get to sleep with it beside your bed on top of that!

Or you could just dispense with the cost per usage math and figure it like this: $312.00 + $312.00 (This is the amount of money you spent on your spouse to prevent her from squawking about your being crazy enough to not only buy a $300 knife but also hang out for weekends at a time with the people here.) = $624.00. That amount amortized over the next 40 years = 4.2 cents per day.

You're worried about a nickel per day?

I tell you what. I will buy two, you come over any time and chop with the extra!:D

Affordable?!?! Are you kidding? :D

Did I mention I am in?

I should have stated it more like "If I can afford it". I have plenty (as if) of INFI and it is all relatively affordable. I'm just a little pessimistic after losing my secondary income yeserday.
Bring it though. I love Res-C and INFI.
I am in, if I can afford it.;)

Infi and Res C work for me ..... regardless of the name on the blade ....

Peter, I hear you there, especially if the logo might get ground off at some point anyway with mods/usage. :p

After all, INFI is INFI and with Res C, I'd say I'm in too!

;)

For me - if I wanted knives with rubber handles or less than full tangs I'd buy another brand. The current construction of the bulk of the Busse line has much to do with what I like about them, beyond the INFI itself and the warranty and the people behind it.

Also, they aren't that much cheaper compared to their regular Busse analogs. And, I use the shit out of mine, and I'm just a regular guy with regular hands and skin, and I've never once thought - wow, I wish these were somehow way more comfortable.

Also, I'm not at all concerned with the weight difference. I mean, I guess if I had to regularly clear a small forest with nothing but one big knife then maybe it would make an appreciable difference, but as a user and not a collector I just don't get the draw.

To each their own, of course, but I'll stick with full tangs and tube rivets and canvas micarta (or paper or G10 or the occasional exotic). These things, IMO, are as much what makes them a Busse as anything else - and I hope they never change.

;)
