Can you buy the hollow barrel revits. I would like to take scales off, polish blade and put them back on. Has anybody done that. Thanks

Yes, it is just aluminum (or is it steel?) tubing. At least it is on the current production models. On my FFBM I used .25" OD tubing with a wall thickness of .039". I think the original tube rivets on mine mic'd out at .044" wall thickness.

There was a good thread about this started by a guy named Wicked a while back. Someone here might post a link for you.

Randucci has a thread on this, too.

NO, you can't buy the rivets. You get some tubing of the correct diameter and wall thickness, cut it to the right length, and press it in place to flare it.

I found that 17/64" worked better for me than 1/4" for drilling out the factory rivets.
I also tried using .019" wall Al. 1/4" tubing the first time and they came loose after a round of chopping and batonning, so you'll want to mind the thickness of the tubing you use. Maybe not a problem if you use steel.
