Yes, it is just aluminum (or is it steel?) tubing. At least it is on the current production models. On my FFBM I used .25" OD tubing with a wall thickness of .039". I think the original tube rivets on mine mic'd out at .044" wall thickness.
NO, you can't buy the rivets. You get some tubing of the correct diameter and wall thickness, cut it to the right length, and press it in place to flare it.
I found that 17/64" worked better for me than 1/4" for drilling out the factory rivets.
I also tried using .019" wall Al. 1/4" tubing the first time and they came loose after a round of chopping and batonning, so you'll want to mind the thickness of the tubing you use. Maybe not a problem if you use steel.
