"Reviving" Old Stag

I have an old Remington carving set that I would like to use. It's stag (I've checked).

What can you do to bring the luster and appearance back?

Ren wax,mineral oil,car wax,many things.

I have some mineral oil I'll hit it with, just wanted to be sure I wasn't messing stuff up.

Before trying the oil, use wax. Neutral shoe polish works well. Mineral oil will soak into the pores in the dried out stag and possibly discolor it. Wax will fill the pores and scratches.
