Well, I've got mine partway worn out. Of course it had already more than paid for itself sharpening other knives before I even started on the sword.

The Nicholson mill bastard 12 & 1/2" file is pretty clogged up. And it wanted to slide over the sweet spot.

The 1x3" carborundum stone on a wood handle is dished out at least 1/8th inch, and there's only a quarter inch left that's flat.

But my Small Tibetan sword now has an even edge.

And the durn Revlon diamond nail file still has some use left in it. 4 & 3/4" overall, 3" of working length on both sides. Not stiff enough unless you use a fingertip to back it up when working a blade into shape, and get this, you can even modify your hold to put a convex edge on your khuk. I don't know about you, but it's thin enough to slip in between scabbard and frog, or somewheres. It'll never take the place of my 8" ( plus 6" handle ) Eze-Lap diamond rod but it sure ought to make do out in the boondocks if you need to touch up a khuk or a locking folder.

The consarned thing just might outlast an AK if you bought both new. I ain't gonna bet either way. But I am gonna get a couple more of them.

Well, gonna have to check out these nail files next time I go to the drug store. Thanks for tip. Any guess as to approximate grit?

Diamond abrasives seem it bit overkill for fingernails though. Do they have power-sprayers for applying make-up now too??
