We prepare for survival situations such as getting lost in the woods and even zombie invasions but what about the preparedness for a revolution type of scenero?
I heard a voice message today that came from Egypt early this morning. I could hear the fear in the persons voice. It was forwarded to a news agency to follow up and try to make contact. The message stated that the army is shooting at the protestors and there are bodies on the streets. Their internet and all phone communication is controled by the government. Theirs is a real survival situation. Scary!
In that type of situation where cell phones, regular phones and internet have been shut down or have failed, how do you communicate? Loosing communication could also happen from earthquake, flooding, etc.
I have a CB mounted in my truck and a handheld unit to lend to my friends when we caravan but I don't know anyone else who feels they should own a CB radio. Even my wife thinks I'm "kookoo" for having a CB in my truck. After she heard the voice message from Egypt we talked about it and show now understands what a CB is for and other things are for.
I think most people feel the need for having a battery powered transistor radio to get the news but what about transmitting to get help?
