I have a Seal Revolver with the Kydex sheath. I've used the knife hunting and camping overnight and love the knife. Problem is, I don't like the Kydex sheath, it's very uncomfortable and bulky. Does anyone know where I can buy the Hunter model leather sheath or if my Seal will even fit in it? Thanks.

Grousy1, welcome to Bladeforums, glad you like the SOG SEAL Revolver knife.

Call 1-888-SOG-BEST and explain what you need, they will help I'm sure.

Or, email them at info@sogknives.com

The SEAL model will fit the leather sheath, though it does not fit as tight near the tip because of the difference in the gut hook model being wider and the SEAL model "clip point" being more narrow.

If you get one, be careful of the "sharp clip point" in the softer leather............

Let me know if I can help any more.

Robbie,

Any possibilities of adding some new Revolver configurations? Personally I would love a BlackTini version of the Hunter with no guthook.:D

Cheers!

Hello Guardrail, I wish.........and hope for some of those type changes in the future.

I have mentioned a drop point version, just have to see what happens.

Thanks for asking, I am listening. :D

I ordered the Hunter leather sheath from SOG. It was about $18. Can't wait to get it.

Thats great, did you see a pic of that sheath in the Hunter review ? Socintel did a great job with those photos I think.

Keep us posted on how you like your sheath after you get it.

Robbie ;)

Yes I did Robbie, actually that review is probably responsible for me getting a Revolver (I showed it to the friend who bought it for me). Just looked through it again and that sheath looks great! I love a good leather sheath.

Hey Guys...

Here is my Revolver sheath..
More of a traditional belt sheath, in Concealex...

Hey...........that looks just like mine ! :D

These sheaths are so nice, and all three models fit this one sheath pictured.

Notice the gut hook indention molded into the sheath.

P.S. Like Robbie said in another thread, they go good with Ruger Revolvers. ;) just an FWI.

i am a cheapscate, wouldn't mind buying a used or not wanted leather revolver sheath. anyone?

Just received my sheath. It's well built, thick leather. I like it so much better than my Kydex one, it flexes more and has a thinner profile to boot. Got here in about 2 days! Now I'm ready to go into the woods.

grousy1,

I've thought about ordering one myself but was concerned about the fit. Does it wiggle too much etc... ?

Post some pics if you can.

Thanks,

Guardrail, unfortunately my digital camera needs repairs, or I'd love to take some shots and post them. I went hunting with it yesterday, so I had it on for about 5 hours straight. It didn't feel the least bit loose. The leather wraps over the handle about an inch and a buckle goes over that so it's real secure. The leather is thick and mine is black. So far, I'm loving it as the kydex sheath was so uncomfortably bulky and inflexable that I frequently would take a another one of my knives along. This setup is great. I just love having a knife that's this useful along with me in the woods - feeling like nothing on my belt now - until I need it. I highly recommend it.

Robbie, if you're still listening:

1. Is your knife that you've carried for 3 hard years just like a production one?

2. I for one would buy an upscale version of the Revolver. This one I believe is priced as a working man's knife (well, for a knife enthusiast maybe). I could easily spend 2-3 times more for an upscale one, like higher grade steel for example.

Grousy1, I'm still here......and listening.......:D .

Thanks for the great compliments, I appreciate it.

The knife I have used for 3 years came straight from SOG just as yours did.

Mine still works great with no problems at all.

I have cut lots of trees and brush, really more than a person should ever need to.

If you treat this knife as you would any cutting/sawing tool, it should perform perfectly for many years in my opinion.

SOG Revolvers go with Rugers?
Hmmmmm.
There's an idea....... :D
How come I never think of these things?
