Revolver question for Robbie

I've had my Revolver for many months and have loved it ever since i got it. I've sawed and batoned many a log and have given it some pretty good use and it's still in great condition. My question though, is when you designed it and I assumed you help test it. How far did you push the knife? One of the things i've always been concerned about was the zytel around the pivot. Now I don't use this knife much as a pry bar but was just curious.

Thanks,

Guard....

Guardrail,........good to hear from you,:D Yes, I have tested/used them for almost three years now.

I don't pry with mine, but I have batoned several times. I just don't try to split huge logs, just smaller 2 to 3 inch.

I really don't pry with any knife much, unless it has a very thick blade, then I am still careful not to push too hard.

The zytel around the pivot has never broken on any Revolver as far as I know.........the inside is beefed up with a stainless liner that encircles the entire pivot area.

I think this helps a lot, but believe me, any knife can be broken under the right circumstances........:o

It has surpassed my expectations by a million times over in it's usefulness and downright handiness to me and thousands of people all over the world.

I am VERY pleased to hear you like it,:D this means EVERYTHING to me.

I just got an email from my buddy Scott at Razorback knives and he said he was in a book store recently and picked up a military book of the U.S. Navy Seals. He said there was a section in there about knives and the Revolver was one the the knives mentioned, this blows my mind, read the article below and you'll know why !

Let me know if I can be of help, and thanks.

I knew the handle had stainless inside, but it was hard to tell if it went all the way around the pivot, good to know. I also don't use it as a pry bar much, but there are those times when splitting a 2 or 4 inch sapling where a little lateral force is needed.

Cheers!

I've done a little bit of light prying with my revolver and it held up fine. My revolver works just as good today as it did the day I got it, even after what some might consider abuse. Anyway..... it's a beautiful day outside today... and for once I am actually not busy.... and I think I hear the woods calling my name... :D

Socintel, really good to hear from you, started to contact you yesterday as a matter of fact.

I knew something was missing from the forums.......... :o just could not figure out what until now, glad you had time to drop by.

Yes, it's sunny and about 70 degrees here now which is a little unusual, I need to be sitting on a creek bank somewhere. :D

Really glad you still like your Hunter Revolver, I still love to show people your great pics/review of it.

Some of the best pics I ever saw.........ever !

Thank you Robbie Roberson for that great article. I have been wondering if a revolver was a knife I needed. Now that I know its history and that you cared about such a needed cause, I am sold.

I feel brighter about SOG as well. I am glad you continued a family tradition and that you found an interested party within SOG.

Now what I would like is a rev. knife with a hunting blade and a great skinning blade as well. Do you have any suggestions?
I think the Seal Revolver will be a great choice overall.

Thanks for that article and keep those ideas flowing. I find the more I know the less I understand and the more I need to search out. Your knife idea is a great inspiration. Thanks! BobBee :)

Bobbee9, I really appreciate that ! :D

I have several buddies who use the SEAL Revolver for skinning and all of them says it works perfect.

The saws on these knives are what is amazing, and the ability to change to a saw from a blade in a second is truly wonderful.

Check out Socintel' great review/pics (large pics) of the Hunter Revolver below.

I use the Hunter Revolver the most because I like the flat grind blade best and it has a leather sheath.

The SEAL Revolver works exactly like the Hunter, but comes with a kydex sheath.
