Revolving Door Policy on Zombies in MN

over reacting. Surprised they weren't shot in the head. FOr the most part, dressing up and acting like an idiot aren't criminal offences.

For some reason the MPD has never had any sense of humor when it comes to zombies. :grumpy:

the locals there seem to be rather fond of killing zoo animals as well:

seems if you climb up the enclosure reach over the wall and get bit by a wild zoo animal defending it's young, the answer is to kill the whole animal family. of course the parents were not to blame for not trying to reduce the kids freedom of expression by (perish the thought!) stopping it, and the child should not be punished by being forced to undergo a painfull injection just for showing it's love for the animals. she'll of course be unharmed by the knowledge that her 'innocent' behavior caused the unececcessary death of five exotique animals. mebbe her parents should take her back to pet the pretty tiger next week just to make sure she's not been traumatised.

as i've said before, Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

C'mon Kronk, it's a little kid reaching a hand into the cage. Dumb, sure. I didn't know there were still Zoo's left where you could do that.

I'm sorry the meercats are gone. As they'd had their rabies shots, maybe they shouldn't have been destroyed, but quarenteed instead. Probably some antiquated law on the books regarding rabies. And it can be very very serious, and the treatment used to be very very nasty, especially to a child.

What I've got to ask here is how the parents said, "Hey, you know, those animals should die so my kid doesn't have to deal with a few (albeit nasty) shots." Get your ****ing priorities straight! Some pain is not worse than killing five innocent animals whose only crime was trying to protect their young. I'll bet the zoo keepers were pretty pissed at that family.

'used to be very nasty' is the key phrase, i understand it's a lot less painfull nowadays. woulda taught it not to be sticking it's widdle fingers in places it shouldn't.

as you said, they should have quaranteened the meercats which is whats normally done elsewhere if the animal had its shots (for some reason rabies developes slower in humans so the animals would show signs of the disease well in time to start any shots). i coulda understood it if they hadn't been vaccinated.

ah, well, guess we have to err on the side of humanity, it just irks me that it was unnecessary to kill the animals who were basically defending it's young, which is what the kids parents (and/or the zoo) didn't do adequately.

i'd just seen a thingy on tv here about a lady and her daughter who'd rescued a little kitten in iran which was about to starve to death. they took it to the vet & had it treated for worms, & had it given all it's shots, including rabies, and they shipped it back to the UK. they were not aware of the extreme anti-rabie laws here in the UK which will force it to be quaratined for six months at their expense (probably about £3000) which they cannot afford, being recent immigrants.

if it'd been from a european country, a 'pet passport' document proving it's had it's shots and been de-wormed woulda been enough. anyhow the law will have it destroyed if they cannot pay. there is no room for common sense. ive had to do the same thing when i brought my dog back from saudi arabia, had all it's shots, lived on an american compound for all its life, had a certificate of health from our british vet even, which would have sailed him thru american customs. he spent 6 mo. in a cold dog house at a quaranteen centre 200 miles away from me, i was 'allowed' to visit him once a month for an hour. cost me a fortune, but i'da paid more. silly rule was he had to have a rabies shot all over again when he got here. took him a good part of a year to get over the trauma (he was hoarse for months from barking)

anyhow, put me in the wrong mood to see the meercat article a bit later, especially after the other one where them yankees (rather clumsily) killed that allygater slow & painful like.

ah, well, just goes to show why i like dogs more than most people........

Too bad it didn't happen forty years ago when the wittle bitty 9 year old girl would'a got her ass busted for sticking her hand where it didn't belong in the first place. I'm sick of people not disciplining their damned brats!

Well, apparently the MN zoo managed to resupply on Meerkats in a mighty big hurry. I was just there on Saturday and prepared my boy for the absence of Meerkats, but there was the Meerkat exhibit loaded with Meerkats jumping all over the place.

Then I tried to figure out how anybody could stick their hand through the plate glass of that exhibit and get bit, but there was no obvious way. It is possible to jump into a tank that has a shark in it or vault into the Komodo Dragon pit, but it would be tough to grab a Meerkat in that zoo.
