Rewrapping the Izula

My Izula's 550 cord handle gets wet quite a bit (usually sweat). my question is do I have to rewrap it or will the hi-speed OD finish protect the metal. I wipe and oil the edge and logo. I did such a fine wrap job I hate to undo it unless I have to. I wrapped it prior to any real use so the finish is intact.

Others have reported that there is no need to worry. The powder coating will protect it just fine.
 
I wouldn't worry about it.
If you do rewrap it with fresh 550, I rub weapons grease into the 550 once it's wrapped. It stops water penetrating the cord.
 
I too am concerned about the same thing. the only thing I can think of is the serial number laser ingrave. I agree the Powder coat will protect the steel, but that number is the only kink in the armor.

I did put a coat of Mil-Tec oil on it prior to wrapping, I'll rewrap eventually.
Maybe after this evenings fishing adventure.
