Rex-45 Regrind

Have searched the topic on both google and on here can’t find any info on a rex-45 regrind what people are pushing it to. Where past a certain point people are running into problems with reasonable use (using a knife like a knife, not a makeshift tool for slamming, hacking ect) it is a rex-45 para 3. Any advice? It’s a edc so no telling what you run into but I’m conscious of my knife edge , the steel and it’s limitations.

I’m thinking at most .010 and at least .015 but I don’t know if that’s playing it safe or pushing it ?

it’s .023 right now

thanks.

I would leave it where it is...but I am conservative. I guess you could thin it
to 20 for better slicing but as you get super thin one staple could make you cry.

Depends on how careful you're willing to be. I reground a Delica in VG10 to 0.015"on a 12 dps bevel. Next time I'll shoot for 0.005".

I am also interested in this subject. I am interested to hear about how it performs after your regrind.

Assuming you are only cutting relatively soft materials and not putting much lateral stress on the edge, I would suggest starting with regrinding the secondary bevel to 12-15 DPS and then grind the primary bevel down to 0.01” BTE. If the edge does chip or roll, you can always add a microbevel later.
