(RFE - request for enhancement)

It will be nice to have handle scales screwed, so it will give more freedom to modify knives and make possible to scales sold separately like BM now doing for their scales.

This way we will be able to have scales from micarta or G10 or CF or Titanium or exotic wood or mammoth ivory or ...

Thanks, Vassili.

I think it would be a step backward, in time ;) The older Busse's had bolted handles and he found a better and more secure method of handle attachment.

I've read here that a 1/4" drill bit will remove the tube fastener w/o damaging the scales or tang (if you are careful). You can then replace the scales with your preference and reattach them with your choice of fasteners. DIY, find a local machinist or knife maker, have the Custom Shop do it for you, or, when you order your masterpiece of INFI from Garth, specify screw fasteners and even alternate sets of scales.
Most folks are happy with the handles that come with their blades and, as Leatherman has stated, the new (nickel alloy tube) fasteners are current state of the art at Busse Combat. Pete

I haven't tried to remove any tube fasteners yet, but I intend on it. I think the GW is a good starter knife to try that on and I have some cool ideas for handles on it.

Hopefully Jerry makes the "Competition Finish" blades available to us soon and those of us that like to tinker can get at it!

I also like pins!

Removing the existing tube fasteners are quite easily done with a 1/4" drill bit. I also like the looks of mosaic pins. The caveat is that the handle slabs will need to be smooth in order to blend with the polished pins. The current milled slabs will not look that great with the pins.

It can be done, sure. But I am talking about manufacturer support for this. I can do this removal but then I need to find proper screws etc... While Busse can provide it right away and also may provide scales separately - like BM doing this now for Rukus.

It may be now state of the art (for some reason) etc, but point is to make it scalable to have magnum or not magnum, G10 or micarta or CF... depends on what you like.

I think it will be improvement in production line, this is a point.

Thanks, Vassili.
