I am trying to find out the ranks/ratings of the Gurkha Regiments past and present. I would like them from the days of the East India Co. when the Regiments first started to the Royal Gurkha Rifles of today.
Thanks for any help.

Catton, The Gurkhas of the modern day British Army are ranked just like every one else. The Officers that are Gurkhas ,however, Have a Special type of commission know as the Queen's Gurkha Officer Appointment. (QGO) I hope this helps you at least some. Merry Christmas Ron
Pipey, thanks for the reply. There is a Gurkhas.com link that had some info. Until recently, the Gurkhas had ranks of Havaldar, Jemadar, Subadar, Subadar-Major, equaling, I think Sergeant, Lieutenant, either senior Lt. or Captain, Capt. or Major. I left my request for info there and should get a reply.
