The top one is my grandfather's RH - 36 hunting knife. I decide to try my hand at making one. Dimensions are the same, only difference is I opted for micarta spacers.
The guard and blade are CPM D2.
This is my 11th knife, so I'm still learning. I'm not happy with the fuller. I don't have a milling machine so I had to use my drill press and a foot ball shaped carbide bit. I cleaned it up some with a foredom
Next the sheath.

If this knife is any indication you are well on your way!!! Looks amazing!!!! Of course all your nit picks are really not visible to me!!! So pat yourself on the back because the above blade is a fine specimen..... I'm/we am/are looking forward to seeing what else lies in your pipeline with this.knife endeavor..... Best of luck.... Patiently waiting for your next knife...👍👍👍

Thanks for the encouraging words.
Not sure which one I'll make next. I see something I like and think I can make that. Maybe a Randall 27.

great job, a faithful interpretation, I was just looking at an RH 36 at an antique store, the biggest in the states, near Waynesboro, Va.

Most of the ones I've seen at antique malls ect are pretty chewed up.

I like the Mark 2 sheath better than the original. Personal preference thing.View attachment 2241550

To the untrained eye, looking at it through a monitor, nothing wrong with this knife.

Fuller aside, that is some very nice work. You can still clean up the fuller anytime. Impressive attention to detail.

Thank you.

I know, just have to tape the %$#%$ out of it so I don't mess it up.

To me, there wouldn't be any point to this without attention to detail. I look at the other knives posted here and think Wow!. It just inspires me to try harder.
