I am looking at a Rh Pal 36 fixed blade that is said to have been issued to navy pilots during WWII. The owner is an elderly women who said it was issue to her husband during his time in the Navy. I have no clue what to offer her. I did a quick google search and came up with $32.00-$89.00 I would be glad to hear from anyone who can enlighted me...thanks

RH Pal is the stamp that Pal Cutlery used on much of its WWII era fixed blades. The RH stands for Remington Hunting.

While I don't have the dates handy, Remington left the cutlery business at the start of WWII, Pal bought all the old machines, etc... Pal then produced a couple of different fixed blade patterns based strongly on the old Remington line.

The RH 35(5" Navy Mark I) and 36(6" utility) patterns were popular with many perchased by the military. A nice one should bring $50-65.

Pal left the knife business in early 50's(I want to say 1950), and sold off the old Remington machines as scrap:(.

I've bought 3 Pals #36 over the last year, one on this forum and the other 2 on the other forum .The condition varied from rough to excellent. None had sheaths. They were all about $25. They are really great knives and seem undervalued. I think $30-40 would be a fair/generous offer. :)

Thanks for the info and just in time, someone else is interested. I offer up $40 since it has a sheath in good condition.
