Is there one? I've been waiting impatiently, as I'm sure many of you have, for these to go on sale. Can't come soon enough.

The Rhino design had a hiccup. the shipment came in and it didn't meet QC specs and the entire shipment was squashed. My apologies to the designer. It's a beautiful design and we'd hoped to have it out long before now. This is not the first time that a run didn't meet our quality control requirements and it's always a drag. But we feel we owe it to our customers and our designers to offer the best quality possible. The entire 1200 pc run is being re-made. That's why e don't like to formerly announce the release of a new model until it goes through QC.

Will they become factory seconds or will they be destroyed?

Oh my, good grief.

"...it's always a drag"
Two eggs cracked in a twelve pack is a drag for most folks. A flat tire on one's parked car. That's a drag.

Yup, Sal is ever chill.

This is also a reflection on Spyderco's emphasis on standards vs. squeezing out every last drop of profit. How many times have forumites examined "seconds" and found no discernible flaw?
Though I shudder, rather than quiver with anticipation, at the thought of a potential 2nds flood.

Thanks for the update, Sal, and best wishes for an unruffled Rhino rectification.

We can't wait.
We can wait.

Once again, getting tired of saying this Mr Glesser.......you are an extremely classy individual sir!!
Thanks for keeping us in the loop........and not sending knives out that don't live up to your standards! It is very much appreciated!
Joe

Haven't decided.

Send me one. I'll let you know whether or not it's worth making available as a second.

Seriously though, thanks so much for doing what you do. Both for replying to my inquiry and for taking it on the chin to ensure we stay satisfied as customers.

If they were to become seconds I wouldn't mind one either just so I could play with it especially if it's gonna be awhile before the newer ones come in. Really been looking forward to this one.

I'm eagerly awaiting this knife. can't wait until it comes out. Glad you are prioritizing quality Sal, that's something I love about Spyderco.

I agree with that also. It still amazes me how so many companies say high quality this and that and you get it and it breaks in a couple days or whatever.

I have been waiting eagerly for this knife. One reason I love Spyderco is that they sell no knife before its time. ;) In other words, I get the quality I expect and hope for every time I buy a Spyderco.
