Rhonda

Three first round KO/TKO's in her last four fights, not bad for a judoka with nothing but an armbar...;)

I see she won bronze in the Olympics. I want to see the gold and silver winners come in and kick her ass.

They don't have the same rules in Olympics anyway, do they? I was thinking the only way she'll be beat was if someone could punch her out, before she could throw them. Now it looks like she can hit with the best too!

Rhonda's only real competition is Cyborg and Cyborg can't make the weight. Even if she could, she'd be so emaciated that Rhonda would end up with another 30-second knockout to her credit.

Love her or hate her, Rhonda appears to be all but unbeatable at this point.

They need to throw Dana White in there so she can kick his freaking magoo looking butt

Me too, and many others want to see Kayla fight her for sure !

Kayla Harrison. The ONLY American to win Olympic Gold in Judo, and she is a beast.
She trained MMA for a while, but decided to go back for another Gold in 2016. She says she may come to MMA after that.
Better throws than Rousey, arm bar just as good, and she's MUCH stronger.
She fights at 165 and Rousey fought at 150, so Kayla won't be able to get down to 135, but they could fight in the middle at 150.

Rousey wouldn't do it though as she knows she'll get that butt kicked. I don't think Dana would allow his money maker to fight her anyway.
Heck, Rousey won't even go up to 150 to fight Cyborg, and she could beat Cyborg with ease(IMO).

Rousey is by far the best in MMA at 135, but I pull against her in every fight since seeing her personality on TUF.

You keep saying that, Ken, but as you also said, we will probably never know who would win a fight between Karla and Rhonda. Personally, I think the Cyborg/Rousey fight will happen, too much money for all concerned at stake.

After seeing the Vine videos, it appears that Bethe almost threw the fight. While this might not be the case, I've never seen fighters start the fight and then proceed to drop their hands seconds into the first round. Sort of seems odd to me. The ref also seems to have just called it immediately.

If Dana will let it happen, I think it will happen. It will be in late 2017 or 2018 if it does happen.
Kayla has said her biggest trouble would be not being able to trash talk, and the talk brings in the big bucks. Dana will want to keep the bigger show(the talker) on top, so I don't think he would let RR fight Kayla.
But RR has already said she won't move up a class to fight, but I think she'll have to rethink that as the money will be to great. I don't know why she won't move up as she fought at 150 in Judo.

Have no idea why RR won't go up to fight Cyborg ??? I think RR would easily beat her.
It will have to happen though, as no one in 135 has a chance against RR, and people are getting tired of paying for one round fights.

Just throwing it in there, fighting at 150 in MMA is a whole different story than competing in Judo/Wrestling/Grappling at 150.

Harrison is at 78KG which is about 172. No way she could get down to 135. The thing that makes Rousey great is not only is she a great athlete with the judo base but she his also fierce and isn't phased by being punched in the face. She seems like an unpleasant person to be around, but her single mindedness and toughness helped her make the switch. Who knows if Harrison "likes" being punched in the face.

But much more so for the men than women.
The womens game hasn't caught up yet, and any women with a very strong background in Olympic Judo(or wrestling) has a huge advantage. Not so much with the men .
It will take a good 10 years for the womens game to catch up. The teen girls training now in every discipline of MMA will be the future, just as it was in the mens game.

RR came from Olympic Judo and thats the reason she is where she is. Any other Olympic medal winner(judo/wrestling) could learn other aspects of MMA pretty fast, just as RR did.

RR was around 150 and KH around 165 when they medaled in Judo. Not that big a difference.
RR walks around at 150(or a bit more) and Kayla could get there.

That sounds like it makes sense. I don't know anywhere near as much about female mma, I was just going off of my own experience.

In my observation, most of the very best MMA fighters came from a strong background in a single martial art or combat sport before switching to MMA. It gives them a strong base method from which to develop other aspects of their game. That's been true whether the art in question is wrestling, BJJ, Muay Thai, Judo, Shotokan or Kyokushinkai Karate, etc. It certainly seems to make a big difference in most cases, as compared to many fighters who only started their fight training in MMA.

Ronda would absolutely crush Kayla in MMA. Ronda has adapted to no-gi grappling in a way that no other judoka in MMA has been able to, there's no evidence whatsoever Kayla could do this. Newaza has been integral to Ronda's judo since day one. She's been training to apply and defend variations of the armbar under a world class judoka both with and without a gi since early childhood. It's instinct for Ronda at this point, the Cat Zingano fight is a great example of this. Kayla and Ronda used to train together under Jimmy Pedro. Kayla eventually got good enough to hold her own with Ronda, but Ronda got the better of it more often than not, despite the 17 pound weight advantage. Kayla hasn't even had an amateur fight yet, she hasn't even shown much potential thus far. She's signed with management at Dominance and chirped about it on social media but she has no plans to train seriously until after the 2016 Olympics. To think she'd beat Rousey in MMA is beyond wishful thinking and quite frankly I doubt it would ever happen.
