I see most if not all ribbon burners are made with a 2 inch or maybe 1 1/2 piping going into the mixing chamber. Well 2 inch is a pain in the ass to find and/or costs is ridiculous in my area. So my question is would I lose or gain anything if from the blower fan I start reducing down to 1 inch piping and place two 1 inch air/propane outlets into the mixing chamber. Of course I would have needle valve for propane and gate valve for air. But would reducing from 2.5 inch fan down to 1 inch piping into chamber be smart. Ribbon burner chamber is 3x3x10 New here so any advice would be nice.

Nobody uses a 2 inch pipe if 1 inch would work.

A 1 inch pipe can’t supply full flow to 2 1 inch openings.

a 2 inch pipe has 4 times the capacity of a 1 inch pipe.

So I would say you should find the 2 inch pipe. 1-1/2 is a compromise.
