Ribz Wear review

I'm going to say a fishing or hunting vest looks more manly and also has pockets :D

Cool to see you in Backpacker Mag though!

I know the Spec Ops community has been testing and using the Ribz with some really good reviews! They can load them up with ammo, gear, whatever, and wear them under their clothes when they need to blend into an urban enviroment. I've even seen Marines wearing them under their Flak / ammo load to carry emergency SERE items.

Looks cool, but I wouldn't wear it in public. Not long till the mall ninjas start appearing all over the interweb wearing this stuff.

Nice pics Joe, looks better on you than me. I have both sizes, and took the smaller one out for a ten miler a few weekends ago. As a general rule I carry very little in my pockets, so it was more about moving items from my back to my front to better distribute weight. Works really well in that capacity, and I was more comfortable and balanced throughout the hike.

I do think it's important to pack this sucker correctly. Because I over loaded the pack the larger items in the main compartments, like a bottle of water, were difficult to get back in once pulled out. Also, some items seemed to migrate towards the back of the pack under the pits and were not easily accessible. Now that I'm aware of the issue I'll load it up a little different next time.

There was also an issue of moobs and moob sweat. I'll spare you the pics.

Ray, the owner, seems like a very good guy. Returns calls promptly and seems really interested in getting impressions of his product. That means something to me...moob sweat be damned.

Looks great but its still growing on me. One day Ill give in and get one

i could see that coming handy when hunting. movement has to be at a min.. if you have back pack or a shoulder bag you still have to move the bag to get to the zippers. here you dont have to move anything.. not too shabby

I can see good urban applications for that in cooler months... under a light jacket or something. Love the look on the face in the "water bottle" pic :)

I remember you talking about that a while back. I like that he wants to hear feedback on it. Shows that he wants to make it the best it can possibly be.

Thanks, Joe.

How is the noise? I have been looking at them but can't really decide if I would really use them.

I got one back when they only offered one size. Was that size the same as the current "small" or "regular"?

Great review Joe! I've had one for the last 6 months. It's a little hot to wear down here with the heat/humidity. It doesn't make a lot of noice, but they do have a different version (camo) that is a different material for hunting.

Biggest advantages is that you can where this as your essentials "pack" but you can wear it in conjunction with a backpack. This is excellent for boating and canoing. I've shelved mine until it cools down some, but other than looking a little odd, it's a very functional piece of gear. I gave it :thumbup:

ROCK6

Wow, Joe can you read minds? Just saw this and was going to ask if anyone had one and what they thought...creepy!

Just read the review. Looks like if you had a camelpak and that you could have a nice maneuverable system for rock scrambling with out being unprepared
