I'm looking to replace my current EDC keychain tool with something new. I came across these Ricardo Vintura things on eBay and on the official Gerber site:

"Great, this thing has everything that I've been looking for: corkscrew, medium sized blade, scissors, and a bottle opener...all in under 3 inches closed!"

Then I run across "Made in China."

I, like most people, have a propensity to run in the other direction when purchasing anything "Made in China," especially when I'll be using this tool on a daily basis and want it to last a long time. I also know that Gerber produces low-end crap along with their good quality knives and tools, and I'm thinking this is more on the low-end of that spectrum.

Does anyone own one of these or know anyone that uses these tools? Or should I just go with the Victorinox Waiter and sacrifice the scissors in favor of better quality and durability?

Get a Victorinox Compact, you get a main blade, combo tool, corkscrew (with mini-screwdriver), parcel hook with nailfile, scissors, pen, toothpick and tweezers. All in just two layers and for around $20. I own lots of SAKs and this one just amazes me, so much utility in such a slim package!

The Compact is one of my all time favorite SAKs.
The Waiter would be an excellent choice too.
