I know CRKT has done some slipjoints in the past, this is however the first one that has really caught my eye. A Richard Rogers designed traditional. Very much inspired clip point, but with materials that bring a super low price. The looks may be subjective, but the action on the knife is excellent.
The blade and shield are bead blasted, and there are embellishments on the handle where the fasteners attach.
It is not a small slip joint, but I like this size of knife, and it is very slim profile, especially compared to a "sodbuster" style knife like the GEC 71.
The knife has a half-stop, and the backspring is flush in all three positions. The pull of the knife is easy enough to pinch open, and the nail nick is really nice and deep if you need to use it, more so than I have seen in other slippies.
The insides of the handle are remarkably clean, it reminds me of some of the AG Russell imported slipjoints, no gunk or anything inhabiting the handles out of the box.
For the price (around $30) it is totally usable and functional. Mine does have some cosmetic flaws on the G10, but nothing that would hinder the use of the knife. I also am not a fan of bead blast finsh on a blade (RUST MAGNET) , but everything else about the knife impresses.
Hope this is traditional enough to be posted here. I just think it is worth sharing for anyone who enjoys slipjoints and especially if you like the Lanny's Clip design style.
