The mall knife store has the Richartz equal to about a Tinker for around $6 bucks more. Of course if I were buying a Standard red Tinker it is $19.96 at Wallyworld. Anyway, what's the skinny on Richartz? Good steel, good construction?

I see they are Solingen built. Makes me think one could do way worse?

Joe Shmoe = CHEAP!!! But not Stupid!

Spend the extra $6, you won't regret it. I had one of those Richartz knives, and it is not upto the quality of a SAK.

I just visited a few websites about this knife. They have a model with a removable side plate revealing a storage compartment that appears to contain several mini screwdrivers. Hmmmmmm.... I believe this company also make the Eddie Bauer line of knives.

Not badly made, in addition to the Pillbox models they also have knives featuring a little cocktail fork.

So from what y'all are saying, get Tinker and Richartz?

I can Tinker at WW as part of any trip for anything (he he!)'.

I can Richartz at mall with cash gained from selling a gun.

Only sad part is I don't ever dress up enough or go anywhere nice enough to actually NEED the Richartz... but it is AWFUL Pretty....

I had a Richartz knife and was not pleased with the steel or the springs. The knife didn't hold an edge and the screwdrivers would close almost every time I tried to use them. All in allI think both the Victorinox and the Wenger are both much superior to the Richartz but the Richartz does look nice.
