A knife maker named Richtig is mentioned in Levine's book on knives. Richtig is kind of famous for being the only knife maker to be noted in Ripley's Believe it or Not, for his sales demos of slicing buggy axles with his knives. He evidently hammered his knives thru and the knives were undamaged. Richtig never revealed his heat treating secrets, and he passed away in 1977. Does anyone know anything more about Richtig's knives ?
