Hey Guys..

Just thought I'd let everyone know there is a Great article in the July issue of TK, page 66, by Jerry Vancook on Canadian knifemaker Rick Frigault....

For those of you who don't know Rick,,he may be someone you'll want to keep an eye open for, because he is one of a few up and coming Canadian knifemakers who will be Very big in the next little while..

Alot of Rick's knives pass over my bench, so I see first hand, the absolute High quality of these blades. Being skilled trade in real life Rick knows how to do things the right way the first time...

Have a look at his work I'm sure you'll also be impressed.
Here is Rick's CKG page...

Leading The Way In Quality Synthetic Sheathing

Eric,
I really like a lot of his models. I especially like the Basadie and Shodan models on 66. Which one are you going to get to see this week? That little Chinto model looks good too.

I like everything about those with exception to the sheaths!

I did a double take after looking at one of the pictures and I noticed instantly that the maker was the same as who made my Bushman Sheath. Normark is mentioned by name in the article, which is pretty cool, considering the smaller sheathmakers are generally not mentioned in articles. The author also points out the importance of the sheath in tactical knives, which is another prop for Eric. Anyway, great knives and great going on a mention in the article, Eric!

Yes, Rick makes excellent knives. He is very meticulous to a small details , and I usually cannot find any faults in his blades. If You have a design that you want him to make that is never a problem. I have met few custom makers, well established and not that will only make the models included in their catalogues. Rick is not one of them and that what CUSTOM knife making is about. I especially like the way he beablasts G10. For some reason it ends up with the texture I have not seen on any other knives yet. Rick is pretty shy guy, not a self promoter. I know that he was actually convinced by other people to get more exposer.I am glad to see his work in Tactical Knives. The other talanted canadian knifemaker to watch for is Jeff Diotte. His website is www.diotteknives.com ,however he does not have his new models in there yet. I have picked up one of his tactical fixed blades at the show and he sure puts a lot of work in his knives. He sculpts G10 handle meticulously and uses micarta pins in them. when the handle is ready it fits the hand like a glove. When I learn how to post pics here ,I will put Jeff's knife here. They also come with Kydex sheaths made by Eric. Great work by these Canadian makers and good value for the money.
