Rick grinding a custom spanto!

That was cool! I wish we could have seen the final outcome though. :(

Cool video.,.would love to see the finished knife.

Looks like Rick carries a Glock :thumbup::thumbup:

It was a custom 3.5 inch spanto flipper. I'm sure you've seen one of those before. :D

Actually I've never handled one, my humble budget only allows for Gen 3 production models. I've seen pictures. I was hoping to see some close -ups of each of the many surfaces Rick has to deal with on a Spanto.

The Spanto grind is just over the top IMO - I'd love to see Rick grind one (with earplugs!)

Does he do a grind at his get-togethers with shop tour included as part of the activities? I don't live very far away and really should go and meet Rick & Rob in person when he hosts something again at his place. :)

Very nice vid Rick, I need to get over there and see it done. Can't wait for the next GTG hopefully there won't be a conflict with my work schedule.

I was expecting more sparks. :(

Nice video! Always interesting to see WIP's and what goes on "under the hood" so to speak.

He doesn't always grind a knife at his GTG's.

Rick,

Does Rick H. put the actual cutting edge on production knives? I thought I read somewhere that he sends them out and then I read that he puts the final cutting edge on the finished blades.

Rick puts the edge on every knife that goes through the shop. He does not send them out.

:D in the Rick V getting tased video?

Cool to see the custom grind process, and worth noting that there are only two grinders there, so if your lucky enough to have a custom you've just seen exactly where it was made.

Thanks Rick, this last one was the sharpest "out of the box" Hinderer I've received so far. Push cut through a full sheet of copy paper with a light hissing sound. Not too shabby for a production model! :)

Haha. I'll post the video of me getting tased later... Haha.
