What happened to this? I thought Rick Hinderer was going to offer an array of "custom scales" for the ZT 0560 like he did with the 0550.... Is there any word on this? It seems like it wouldn't be hard for Mr. Hinderer to get this going and make a decent profit from it!

Good question. How do you make a pattern like that without a CNC machine? It's like a golf ball pattern so it's more than cross-hatching. I'm ready to make my own with a small milling table and a Dremel.

It's like getting something in the mail from the post office: It'll happen ... eventually.

IIRC there was also talk of Ti standoffs to be made for the 0550/0560 from Hinderer

Hmmm......I wonder how many users don't like the scales on their 560/561s.

Unlike the scales on the 550/551s, I think those on the 560 series are real beauties. If I had to, I'd buy them as after-market scales.

There was talk, but so far nothing has materialized, Hinderer has no problems staying busy with his own knives.

I would love to see some Ti standoffs at some point though....

He's too busy feeding the XM "scalpers" who buy his knives for $385 and sell them for $700+.:barf:

Why does he let this keep letting this happening? He should be making the $ not the knife scalpers.

1 knife per person per life time at the LEO/Military price. Problem fixed.

It's his business to run as he pleases. Would I do things the same way? Probably not, but I will continue to enjoy my $385 XM very much :D

Lucky you. Everyone would probably agree if we all paid the same $$.

It is his business, but that one knife per person suggestion is a darn good one.

I would love to see some of his scales for the 55x/56x as well. When is another issue. Can't say it enough about Keeth(Rival) or Preacher for custom scales. Their work is absolutely amazing.

On the other issue, IMO Rick does a great job. If someone has the credentials they can buy direct or anyone can play the lottery at a show he is at. Sucks that people have someone with those credentials order knives for them and then turn around and double their money(says a lot about his product when we know what he charges and we STILL pay double). I would love one of his knives but the secondary market price is out of my reach or by the time I drive to a show where he is it would be cheaper to pay the market price. Also I know plenty LE that would be happy to order for me, and although I would never sell it, just can't be that guy to do that. At least new customers get tended to before exististing ones when ordering direct.
