I had seen a XM-18 in person before this pass around so I knew I liked it to start with. Getting to use one for a week was a real joy. The fit and finish is as close to perfect as could be. The opening was silky smooth and once freeing the blade from its seating it seemed to almost force itself open. It also locked open with authority and the frame lock came to solid engagement. The g-10 side had perfect texturing that gripped well without bitting the hand at all. The titanium rail on the G-10 side gave me confidence in the knifes integrity even though that was not a concern to begin with. Rick's Lockbar Stabalizer is a wonderful invention and improves upon a great lock design. The spanto blade delivers as promised. The tip is thick and strong while the cutting edge is thin enough to cut really well. I even managed to cut myself with the lightest accidental touch to the side of my finger. I cut cardboard, taped cardboard. whittled wood and a bunch of random stuff over the week and the blade was still push cutting till the last day when I gave it a touch up before sending it out. I plan to buy one and give this knife my full recomendation. Thank you Rick Hinderer for the pass around and creating a hard use knife that delivers.
