Thought I would share with you guys and gals two of the blade styles that Rick Hinderer is currently in the process of making, calls the them his Firetac models. One style not shown is a clip point. A variety of handle materials are offered, with carbon fiber being shown on these knives.

The Blade steel is BG-42.
Blade length is 3 ½",
Handles are Titanium,
Handle is 4 5/8", with a overall length of 8 ¼".
Lock is an integral lock, very strong,
The handle on these two are inlayed,
He also makes them with a overlay, only on the side opposite the lock side.
The pivots are of a special spanner type, that he makes and includes a spanner wrench with each knife.
The standoffs in the back of the knife are anodized Titanium.

On some knives he has a flame pattern milled into the handle he says looks very cool.

Cool knives Rick!!! I like the blade design on the top knife in the photo... would also like to see the flames, post a pic when ya get one!! How about some damascus options? Mike

Thanks Gary,
These are the first tactical's I have seen of Rick's.

Rick is another fine maker who does not get much notice here. Fine person too. I hear from sound sources that some of the small folder parts (screws especially) that he is making for others are fantastic.

One of these days I would love to own one of his fancier folders.

Nice, original, cool blade designs, integral lock, nice mill work on the inlays......I think he's got some winners there

Thank you everyone for your kind words!I just started these in the past 6 months. It is my first serious venture into tacticals as the past 8 years I've been mostly into art knives.Gus,I'm not giving up on the artsy stuff,so maybe we'll hook up sometime.Dr.Lathe,those thumb notches are more aggressive than most with the checker file serrations.I scotch bright the edges smooth on top, which smooths it up quite a bit which you don't see in the pic.I first designed these as tools for the fire service(hence the name "firetac")I'm a part paid firefighter and some of the problems with using and holding onto a knife while working a call are serious. We use gloves almost all the time and even when we aren't were always in mud, water, and so on.So I wanted a maximum amount of traction. So I filed these 1/8 dia. grooves instead of filing serrations. But,these are customs so I can change that very easily.Thank you very much for your observation,I WELCOME constructive critisism as it only makes me a better knifemaker.

Hello Mike!I hope you and Audra are well(we going back to the crab house next year in Hotlanta
