So about 16 weeks ago I bought a Fiddleback Forge custom Camp Knife while Todd and I were down at USA Made Blade. I've been hauling the knife here and there with a cardboard blade protector since. Well, I'm happy that those days are finally over! About 3 weeks ago I contacted Rick Lowe about a custom sheath. I couldn't be happier with the results.
I'd gotten a tip from a member over on the ESEE forum, I'm not sure if he's a member here or not, about Rick's work. Rick is the owner of RLO Custom Leather based in Candler, NC. I tucked the information away and then finally called. Rick was very pleasant on the phone and we even talked shop for awhile. After a bit of discussion as to the sheath specifics he said he would email me some examples of his work that I may be interested in. Within a few days my sheath was ready to be assembled. It couldn't have taken more than a week or two from start to finish.
I carried my Camp Knife(along with a few other knives) around yesterday in the Smokeys. The sheath is very comfortable to carry and supplies a lot of retention. The loop is set up to allow the sheath to be removed while still remaining secure to your belt. This comes in very handy when I get in and out of my Jeep.
If you're in the market for a new sheath be sure to give Rick a look. I'm sure pleased that I did. RLO Custom Leather is a great choice!
