So about 16 weeks ago I bought a Fiddleback Forge custom Camp Knife while Todd and I were down at USA Made Blade. I've been hauling the knife here and there with a cardboard blade protector since. Well, I'm happy that those days are finally over! About 3 weeks ago I contacted Rick Lowe about a custom sheath. I couldn't be happier with the results.

I'd gotten a tip from a member over on the ESEE forum, I'm not sure if he's a member here or not, about Rick's work. Rick is the owner of RLO Custom Leather based in Candler, NC. I tucked the information away and then finally called. Rick was very pleasant on the phone and we even talked shop for awhile. After a bit of discussion as to the sheath specifics he said he would email me some examples of his work that I may be interested in. Within a few days my sheath was ready to be assembled. It couldn't have taken more than a week or two from start to finish.

I carried my Camp Knife(along with a few other knives) around yesterday in the Smokeys. The sheath is very comfortable to carry and supplies a lot of retention. The loop is set up to allow the sheath to be removed while still remaining secure to your belt. This comes in very handy when I get in and out of my Jeep.

If you're in the market for a new sheath be sure to give Rick a look. I'm sure pleased that I did. RLO Custom Leather is a great choice!

Yep, that is a great looking sheath!!! Some neat spalting on that camp knife too!

Double thumbs up on that sheath Murph! Glad you and Rick were able to connect. Like I said, you can't go wrong with the RLO.

Very nice Murph! Rick did a fantastic job on that sheath, and it suits the knife very well! Yeah Justin is also an ESEE fan. He is working on a very cool mod on one right now. He is one of the few mature ones there that gives me hope for the whole crew :) I have to admit...I like my "ESEEs" for rough experiments myself, but my ESEEs are ummm... pre-ESEE, and I had to do something about the ergonomics.... ;)

Super photos Murph and a great Camp Knife, too. Thanks for the boost and enjoy the whole package!

Great choice Murph. Rick's work is outstanding and the tooling on that is stellar. Haven't seen anything quite like it before.

Rick Lowe is the man! Super to work with and super product! Great pics! And... beautiful Camp Knife! I recently got a full "dress" sheath for a really special Bushfinger.... AMAZING!

That is a spectacular combo.

Rick always does amazing work, and that sheath is no exception. Rather than just provide a means to transport and protect a blade, Rick so often creates a sheath that is a work of craftsmanship and a compliment to the knife that it holds. Congrats, Murphnuge. That knife / sheath pairing is heirloom quality and I don't mind saying I am more than a little jealous. Cheers!!

Rick, that one looks great!
