Rick has developed a style all his own and these are wonderful examples of it. They will make a great addition to any collection. Well done!

All my best,
Gary

Hello!

Congratulations - a wonderful set! Love the new Lorien/Rick piece in particular!

Best regards,
Alex

Great scores Dudley. Rick is a super nice guy as well. I meet him last year at blade. I got to chat with him only briefly this year.

Thanks for sharing

This was a really neat project, hopefully the first of many with Rick:)

I passed it by Dudley and Rick, and they're cool with my posting. In fact, apparently Rick has some in progress photos to share as well and I really hope to see em.

So, here's the original pattern. It's based loosely on a knife made to my design by Tad Lynch.

Rick wanted to change a couple of things, and the results were excellent.

here's Coop's brilliant pic;

Looks like a double tap, Lorien.

Thanks for posting this, Dudley! It was a pleasure talking with you at the show and I can't help but love the fact that both of these Bowies are in the same collection.

I do have more pics but they need to be edited for the forums and I am stuck with my wife's iMac... which I find difficult to operate.:o

Lorien

I do not usually care for D guards but there is sometching very appealing about this knife

Good job

I wonder what you'll think of the next D guard I've got in the works...

Rick does all right, though the sasquatch musk that clings to his person is a bit much to deal with.

Someday he'll start making man-sized blades, I'm sure. :D

In all seriousness, getting to actually handle his work is one of the highlights of going to Blade. That, and the chocolate milk or coffee he buys me.

Rick, the recurve you added is what really makes the design pop, I feel.

You know, I'm not a big fan of Rick's aesthetic. But...I love that he followed his muse and created a style all his own. His knives are instantly recognizable.

That Musso rendition is incredible. It looks like a nasty piece of work. I'd love (hate?) to see it in the hands of someone who knew how to use a fighting bowie.

Both very nice! I spent about 15-20 min. going over that D-guard in the Waverly lobby one evening at BLADE and examined it again on Sunday while assisting Coop in shooting it. I was sorely tempted as it is so well done all around - just too busy at the show to do anything about it. Still impressed by it a couple of weeks later, I emailed my compliments to Rick and Lorien. Rick mentioned it was available and clearly I was too slow on the trigger to snag it. Good on ya, Dawkind! I handled many excellent knives at BLADE with much higher price tags and very few had the juice evident in this one.
