I recently picked up a Shadow Back Pocket from Rick Menefee and would like to give a review.
The knife arrived in a zippered case and packaged so it couldn't be damaged in shipment. First thing I checked when I removed it from the package was the edge. It came extremely sharp and had a really nice thin even grind. The blade has a swedge that is even on both sides.
Next I checked the walk and talk. Which IMHO is just about perfect. No play open or closed. Back spring is flush open, closed and in the half stop position. The blade is perfectly centered when closed.
This knife was ground on Rick's new 14 inch wheel. The grind on this knife is thin and will be a wicked slicer. Rick also did a fantastic job on the as ground finish on the blade.
Handles and back spring are nicely rounded. This knife doesn't have any sharp edges to ruin the ergonomics. The handles are finished to even polish.
I am very happy with the knife and to top it off. It only cost $207.00 . Anyone who would like to try one of Rick's knives better get one while you can. Larry
OAL closed 3 3/4 inches.
OAL open 6 3/4 inches.
Blade steel 154CM
Hollow Grind with as ground finish.
Black Canvas Micarta Handles.
Blade thickness .080
Behind the edge .010
Handle thickness .420
