riddle of the spydercase

I just purchsed a plain edge military from my armorer and did not recieve one of the nifty padded black zipper cases that I recieved when I got my civilian. I believe that the civilian is an older knife than the military, and I thought that all spydies made after a certain time came with a case. Perhaps my military is a first generation and I just dont know it? How can i tell if the military I have is not the latest model? Anyone have an idea?

I wish they came with cases, but I believe the civilian is the only one that did.

Spyerco made a few different models with cases, usually customs or "semi-customs", including my favorite Spyder of all time, the Jess Horn folder.

The new models have three screws holding the clip on, the older ones only had two. Dont go by steel alone,the new style is in both ATS-34 and CPM440V, I cant recall but only a few hundred of the ATS-34 styles were offered. The new style also has a curved ramp area for the liner lock to engage.

Note: The only difference of the new style ATS-34 and CPM440V choice is that the ATS-34 one has the finger grooves cut into the choil area.

I got a case with my C22 and C27. I reckon a civilian sized case would make an excellent toilet bag.
 
I wonder if its possible to buy just the case?
