Japan tsunami,not less than 1000KM to China, cause "Chinese earth quake" . from yesterday on,panic buying of salt are on going in Chinese rural & urban area,crazy customers empty maket's salt racks,The disappointed customers are waitting in line for the supplement,Due to the rumor that inodized salt can protect human from abosorbing
of iodine131, a radiative substance.How crazy action it is !!!!

Not just China and surrounding countries with this insanity. Most U.S. suppliers of potassium iodide tablets who haven't sent all of their stock to Japan have about completely sold out to U.S. orders even though it is nearly impossible that we will be affected by any of the radiation due to the large distance from Japan... Our news outlets have advised us that there is no need and the tablets only helps to block radiation from the thyroid to some degree if I recall correctly, yet the rush to get them continues.

It is a scary situation there, and I wish Japan the best with getting their nuclear reactors back under control as quickly as possible.

I think the whole world is going crazy on this one.:eek: My thoughts and prayers are with all our brothers and sisters in Japan as well as everyone else who has been (or, unfortunately, will be:() affected by this tragedy.
 
That is because people are sheep and morons.

Remember the anthrax scare? Drug companies could not keep up with the demand foe anthrax antidote, even though it is completley worthless to take it as a preventitive. Only wors if you take it right arround the time of exposure.
 
Hear hear. Now Angela Merkel is closing dow a lot of nuke poverplants just to evaluate something thats just resent has been evaluated. Like Germany has problems with tsunamis and earthquakes?? This is now causing a power crisis in Europe, with spiking prizes.

Lachine, thank you for the report on reality from your part of the world. I hope things get better soon and not worse.

A lesson to be learned is that a similar run on the markets in the US would quickly become very problematic, if not outright dangerous. :( The people who stocked up ahead probably won't be affected much though and it's never too late to start until, well, it's too late. ;)

As to the shutdowns & price hikes, any chance to be greedy is usually taken advantage of by someone sooner or later. :thumbdn:
 
potassium iodide went from $6 to $400 per 14 130mg..... opportunistic evil people. BTW Do not take iodate..or drink iodine..or waste your time with iodized salt..it is only potassium iodide that will flood the thyroid blocking any rads from finding a home there
 
1day ,only 1 day ,the craze have been curbed, Evidence show some salt industry traded companies involved in this farce.
yesterday,Chinese goverment declared that in nowadays,THe leakage of japanese nuclear power would not affect China,CHINA say the supply of salt in the market is abundant,Administration ordered all salt industry companies strive to transport and supply as more salt as possible,they have been ordered to operate round clock in these days. in the television,Specialists bombard viewers that the inodized salt is uneffectual for the prevention of radiation.Today ,if you go to the market ,you could see excessive salt supply , no waiting-in-line ,no panic buying, if you metion yestday's panic buying ,sb will laugh at u.ALL regret they purchased excessive salt ,sb want to return their purchase. How magic it is~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Not suprised to hear that salt companies were behind the "push" to create panic buying ....

Pesonally I would'nt consider taking in too much potasium iodine salt .... some "treatments" have side effects and that stuff does'nt process well through your kidneys .... damaging your kidneys when the risk of toxic radiation reaching China is remote seems wholly counter productive ....
