Rifle deals?

My local Big 5 has a couple old rifles on sale tommorrow. Would these be good deals?

Romanian/Hungarian M44 Mosin Nagant rifle $49
"VZ24" 8mm Mauser rifle $59

I thought I should get one of each! What do you think?

The Mosin Nagant is 7.62 by 54 which you can buy pretty cheap and it is a good little bolt action cheap rifle.

I would personally buy 2 of the 8mm Turkish Mausers. Check out the barrels and the bores and make sure they are not totally rusted. The 8mm rounds are again easy to get your hands on some great surplus ammo that is cheap.

Both of the guns need to be checked by a local gun smith for headspacking to make sure neither one blows up in your face when you shoot them for the first time. Usually cost about 10 to 20 dollars per rifle. If you are feeling up to doing it your self buy a no go gauge from Brownells and read the instructions good.

Do a search for some forums that talk about surplus rifles such as the Mosin Nagant and the Mauser and you will find alot of great info.
