This one is a customer design that I really liked. I'm hoping he'll chime in here one he receives the knife. It was intended as a fisherman's companion knife but, I think, there are a wide range of applications for this style. This design has curves that just
flow into your hand.

This knife has a 3" blade (6 1/4" overall length) of hand-rubbed 440C. The knife also has a "line cutter" at the base of the ricasso. The handle is canvas micarta with stainless steel handle bolts and a matching lanyard hole. The knife also has a matching leather pouch sheath by Tess.

I like it instantly! The blade design has an interesting "feel" to it.

Ain't she pretty...and unique she is!

The knife is enroute so my comments will be limited (damn I can hardly wait to get my hands on it!)

When I submitted the design sketch to J he immediately said it was doable. He made several suggestions, each of which improved either the form or the function. There were alot of e-mails exchanged and templates sent back and forth before the design was finalized. Although I developed the concept, I consider this a collaboration because J brought so much to the finished product

As J intimated, I like to fish. When fishing I always seem to be looking for a tool to cut fishing line, and other stuff as well as clean trout etc.

For this design, I wanted to preserve the edge on the blade proper for serious cutting tasks so I designed the line cutter into the ricasso. I think I came up with a handle/blade design that will work equally well cutting up or down. My real goal was to create a small versatile fishing utility knife.

J is really easy to work and a fine knife maker to boot. Got to add, Tess was also part of the creative team. The sheath is not only pretty but functional. It is a cross-draw design so I can get at the knife whether I'm standing, sitting, squatting or whatever contorted position I get into.
