My rift showed up in my mailbox yesterday. Love the ease, selection, and prices when buying online. Hate the wait on delivery. Feel like I check the shipping updates 10 times a day. The fit and finish are great, the scales match up with liners and the axis is smooth as butter. Don't know if it will replace my pm2 as my main EDC, but it will definitely be in pocket for the next couple of weeks. Really like the blade shape and the grinds.

Congrats on the new Benchmade. The Rift is one of the best Benchmades to come out in past few years

How does it feel in the hand?

I just got my first two, a Nagara and a 710, and the 710 is taking a little bit of getting used to. Don't think I've had a folder that large before.

Thanks, I wear large gloves and it fills my hands well, also the reverse grip is uncommonly comfortable. Don't know if I'll ever use the knife with that grip, but certainly feels good in my hand.

+1 on the Rift.
I got turned on to this model when I got the BM Forum knife (M4 wrapped in CF).
It's a great package.

I picked up a Rift recently. It's one of the smoothest opening knives I have. It feels like the blade is riding on ball bearings.

I love my Rift. If you have the 2-tone version, you can change the colors of the scales quite easily:

My Rift is currently sporting the maroon scales that I colored. I traded the blue ones off for some standard 2-tone so I could color them. I'm getting the itch to experiment again, so if anyone is interested in my maroon ones, I'll gladly trade them for standard 2-tone scales so I can experiment again...

I have had a Rift for a few months now and think it is great. Carried it this weekend and it rides nice in the pocket for a knife that large. I am planning to get a deep pocket clip and once that arrives I will likely carry it even more.

Thought before the knife arrived that upon receiving it I would skeletonize the liners. I have access to a mill and after some good info and pics from the BF members got the right drill bit and RPM's. now that I have the knife in my hands I'm not so sure.

The size and weight of the Rift have both kind of grown on me. If I were you I would wait a little while unless you already skeletonized your Rift....in which case I would be curious how you like the lighter version.

I have to chime in too. I have the Rift and it's a great knife. was my EDC for a number of years only to give way to my 300SN

The Rift is a good sized blade in a small package. My one wish was that it was tip down (I'm sure I'm in the minority on this). I really like the slicer grind in a very attractive reverse tanto shape. Here's my forum knife with a convex grind...now it really slices!

Congratulations on a nice acquisition.

Yeah, Keyman... I wouldn't do that to my 2012 Forum Rift, either:

But then, I like CF scales! The 2012 Forum knife, 950-1201, was a great deal - CPM-M4 steel and CF scales - nice! The Shoki and Megumi are nice, too - and still available.
