RIGHT ON DON!!!
We do our Rigger CoatTM process on any Kydex sheath (Blade Rigger's OR OTHERS) including most handles, (please contact us to verify viability of the existing handle material.
We can do either a gloss or the optional antiqued (non-gloss) finish. We also provide a varity of abstract ("Bubble Effect") surface textures in one, two or three tone homogenious colors.
We have been told by many that this is THE recommended process for concealment Kydex sheaths.
We have been doing for some 10 years our leather lamination process on top of Kydex sheaths for our True Custom Blade line... because of the inhearent loud noise factor of Kydex... (NOT desirable for concealment purposes). This is why we have developed this Rigger CoatTM process for our SCP (Semi Custom Production) line, as "EACH PIECE IS A ONE OF A KIND", artisticly valued.
This material IS NOT THAT CHEAP "PLASTIC TOOL DIP" STUFF seen in your local hardware store... Our's is a special (engineered blend), hand applied,.. providing an extremly flexible and abrasive resistant surface.
This process adds TWO additional dimmention to concealment, and in the process strengthens and seals-up the Kydex sheaths exterior... covering the rivits, edges, etc..
These two additional dimmentions in concealment are color... blending in with its sorroundings and the second is.. because of the "Bubble Effect", adds a third dimmention to its surface there by creating shadow... and as a bonus.. aids in it gripping potential.
