Rigger Sticks - JSP

I have a 24" and a pair of 28" that I have been working out with for over a year. The longer sticks have softened up a little, but still work fine for partner siniwalli practice. When I first got them, I was a little skeptical that they would last long enough to be worth the price, but now I would have to say that they have.

Oh, they are rattan sticks coated with James Piorek's proprietary tool dip. I don't care for the shiny appearance, a little too disco for training class. Had to take a lot of BS over the appearance at first. Get flat finish if it is available.

Steve,

Actually, it is a popular misconception that what James uses is a tool dip or even a dip at all. If you look at your sticks closely, you can tell it is painted on.

I ended up with a pair of RiggerSticks that have Pepto-Bismol Pink ends...talk about being the Queen of the Prom.

Oh-Tay

I found Szabo Inc has them for $150.00 [Hopefully a pair] can they be found cheaper??

Durability?? Coated rattan for this price?

Are they as durable from fracture as polycarbonate tubing/rod or dymondwood?

Does the Riggercoat hold up under extended hard use?

I received a flyer awwwaaay back (1980's?)when when Mr Piorek first came out with this type finish, and wonder how its held up with time.

I'm not trying to bash the product, just want some good straight forward "end user" feedback.

Many Thanks!!

I Moderate James' [JSP] Forum here at BFC, as well as this Forum. I have RiggerSticks.

They're tough as nails, but I think I am going to look into the various plastic/polymer based sticks in the future.

The JSP Stick Sling and Stick Bags are 100% the best I have ever owned though.

Well, if anyone wants my pair, I'll sell them for $75.00+Shipping.
