How long do rigger sticks last when used on a regular basis? Years or months?

I've known two people who have had them for about three years I think. They don't use them as their primary sticks but not for everything because they can break a lot of other people's sticks. The rigger tar has worn in certain places but the sticks are still fine.

Jason,

Thanks for the reply. Three years! That's along time. That coating must either be pretty thick or very hard for the rattan to last that long.

I don't know what it is but it's like magic. Either the bounce the rigger coat adds or the way it distributes the shock waves, the sticks last.

The coating itself I found to be very strong and take tons of abuse, the only problem I had was that they were slick and after awhile at training it became difficult to hold on to them due to sweat. The problem was solved with tape.

For long training sessions, I would recommend a Rigger Stick option... de-glossing the surface finish,... "Antiqued Finish". This process removes all the gloss and opens its surface pores, without affecting its integraty... Providing enhanced gripping with moisture present.
