Hey lads,

Does anyone have a, any really, Rinaldi Axe from Italy? How is the Steelquality, Temperquality and Forgingquality.
I dont really care about the Grindquality since i dont need Tools to be sharp from the Factory, since i can do a much better Job with my Anglegrinder, File and Stones.
(I know how protect it from overheating...)

And the most important thing for me is, how thick is the Blade? Now with 1 measure you can obviously not judge how good it is. So is anyone interested in measuring one for me?

Give the model number or name and its mass aswell please.
Then get a Caliper and measure the Blade thickness at these Distances from the edge away.
Measure in the Middle of Toe and Heel.

Distances is Millimeter from edge away:
(OPTIONAL)
(2,5 mm)
(5 mm)
(7,5 mm)
10
20
30
40
50
60
70
80 mm

I use Millimeter since, now all my 8 Axes were done this way. You can of course measure the thickness and mark the Distance in Inches, equivalent to my Numbers.

Thank you.

I have a number of different Rinaldi axes and other tools and while they're a bit "rough and ready" in their factory finishing, the steel and heat treatment is fantastic. The axes are, for the most part, quite thin, as they're traditional Italian patterns and that's par for the course with most of them.

What Models do you have? Could you measure the thinnest for me, i am undecided if i should buy one. Idk if they are even thinner than a Müller axe?

My thinnest is probably their Genova pattern, which I re-handled for use as a rough wood-shaping hatchet.

But I also have their No.5 Trento, Milano, and No.000 Calabria, as well as their splitting maul.
