Ring opener, how does it work?

I have seen pictures of the recent Canal Street ring opening knives. How do they work. Do you turn the rings to open the blades?

Yes...but it should still feel solid upon opening and closing.

Yep, there are two rings, one for the blade and one for the nail tool. The rings open the blades, which snap confidently into place. Then the knife closes just like any other slipjoint.
