That's super

Even though tiny, that would make a good easily concealed personal protection piece.

or a handy leatherknife:thumbup:
very cool Tai.

Superb. Who'd a thunk.

VERY COOL Tai! I was also thinking more along the lines of a utility slicer than a protection piece.

Was it designed for a particular use?

Breathtaking piece, Tai
It reminds me of a cockspur :)

Hey Tai! Sexy little piece. I've always loved scroll wire work jewelry.

I know this isn't the Shop Talk forum where I usually hang out with you, so am not sure if it's proper protocol to ask technique stuff here. I'm intrigued by your comment about the edge guard being mild steel lined copper. How did you do that and why? I would have assumed its being made of just straight soft copper would have been the way to go. Or would that be too soft and not springy enough to hold to the blade and/or hold its form over time to maintain a snug fit?

Very cool first of the year piece!

Thanks guys!

Phil,
Good question.

The mild steel liner is to prevent “galvanic corrosion” between the copper and steel blade. It's a thin sheet silver soldered to the inside of the copper. Straight copper would be O.K. as long as it wasn’t stored with the edge guard on for long periods of time,… but with the mild steel liner you don’t have to worry about it.

I didn’t really have a specific use in mind, just general utility,… but it might make a neat little weapon in a reverse grip.

Anyone ever seen what damage the simple box cutter can administer in capable hands?

No kidding, galvanic corrosion? Knowing the maker, I should have known it had something to do with being too electric!

Neat design! I like it! That would make a really nice desk knife for opening whatever needs opening. :)
