Although he will be remembered as the sweaty, menacing man-raping hillbilly in Deliverance, McKinney was actually an all-around fine character actor whose face you saw in various minor roles in movies and crappy 70s & 80s TV shows.

To quote the great Arthur Spooner of King of Queens: "Nobody squeals like Ned Beatty!"

Rest in peace Mr. McKinney.

He appeared in alot of movies, including 7 with Clint Eastwood. Memorable roles as "Red Legs" Terill in "The Outlaw Josey Wales" and "Lefty" LeBeau in "Bronco Billy." He was blown away by John Wayne in "The Shootist." A Death Row Guard in "The Green Mile."

I do remember him. Sorry to see. RIP Mr. McKinney

Aw man, he was one of my favorite character actors. Had a memorable line in The Outlaw Josie Wales.
"He's not a hard man to track, leaves dead men where ever he goes!"

He was actually a very nice low key guy, who loved trees. I read someplace he'd studied to be an arborist.

Rest in peace Bill.
